And when they dont sign a pro contract its not because I havent told them the areas where they have fallen. Shes the woman that wrote Grit.. And Im thinking great, well have all these core values. Now did we give them an opportunity to lead? But now they get to rank themselves in 7 out of the 8 categories that were going to review. You dont have to save everyone in your company. Under some delusion that these parents have, they think that by trying to raise their children with this idea of self-esteem or their praise for everyone, which is a part of the culture where everyone gets a trophy, they have eliminated standards for their own children. Their parents love them out of this diluted feeling that, Im going to build my kids self-esteem by telling them how wonderful they are when theyre not. And now all of a sudden, I have to deal with these kids. Were the best of the best. Every one of them has memorized that. Ill give you my favorite example. She called me up one day. Every now and again Ill work with these different groups that are sorting out a way to test character, and theres some group Im working with, but right now I cant remember them, although I am doing some work with Angela Duckworth on performance. Anson: And obviously, so now Iobviously I dont talk about having them destroy a program.
